NURS 7005: Nursing Education Capstone
NURS 7010: Nursing Administration Capstone
NURS 7005 & 7010: Taken in your final term after completing all core and track courses. May take 1–2 other courses if it’s your last term.
NURS 7005 & 7010: Offered in fall and spring (15 weeks). Not offered in summer.
NURS 7005 & 7010: Plan a year ahead. If your site requires an affiliation agreement, allow several months.
NURS 7005 & 7010: ~12 hrs/week for 15 weeks (3 credits). Includes 45 practicum hours with an MS-prepared preceptor.
NURS 7005 & 7010: Yes, with faculty approval. A separate Capstone Request Form is needed for each preceptor.
NURS 7005 & 7010: Yes, if outside your usual role. Preceptor cannot be your supervisor.
NURS 7005 (Education): Patient/family education, outreach, clinical care (e.g., wound, diabetes, palliative), or community-based projects.
NURS 7010 (Administration): Not applicable—no direct care requirement.
NURS 7005 & 7010: You are responsible for securing a site and preceptor, then submitting the MS Capstone Request & Approval Form via Davin Healthcare Software Solutions system for lead faculty review and approval.
