BSN Capstone / Clinical Practice FAQs (Quick Reference)
NURS 4015: Population & Community Health Nursing
NURS 4020: Baccalaureate Nursing Capstone
NURS 4015: After completing all 300-level courses (including CPL credits).
NURS 4020: After completing all 300-level courses AND NURS 4015.
NURS 4015: Fall, spring, and summer (15 weeks).
NURS 4020: Same, but must be taken AFTER NURS 4015 (not in the same term).
NURS 4015: Plan about a year ahead to fit practice hours into your schedule.
NURS 4020: Same, plus allow months if an affiliation agreement is needed.
NURS 4015: ~12 hrs/week for 15 weeks (4 credits). Includes 45 practice hours with
a community preceptor.
NURS 4020: ~15 hrs/week for 15 weeks (5 credits). Includes 90 practice hours with
a leadership preceptor.
NURS 4015: Public health agencies, schools, community hospice, parish nursing, or
outreach clinics.
NURS 4020: Hospitals, long-term care, colleges, medical offices, hospice, or community
leadership sites.
NURS 4015: Yes, if outside your normal role.
