Your university email is your main source for updates on registration, deadlines, events, and academic support.
Log in: sunyempire.edu/email
Your email address and password match your SUNY Empire login (firstname_lastname###@sunyempire.edu).

Sign into the student portal
https://my.sunyempire.edu gives you access to your records, registration, financial aid, and more.
New undergraduate students: Check your email for your username, account activation link, password setup instructions, and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) setup.
Returning students: Forgot your password? Use the reset link.

Complete Online Orientation
Orientation prepares you for your first term and is required for enrollment.

First Term Advising
Within 5–7 business days after completing orientation, you’ll receive an email titled “Recommendations for Your First Term Classes.” (This timeframe may be longer if additional information is requested from you.)
It includes your advisor’s name, recommended courses, and registration instructions with a video tutorial.

Register for Classes
Go to the Registration Portal and log in.
Select “Begin or Modify Registration.”
Refer to the course recommendations from your First Term Enrollment Advisor.

Meet Your Student Success Team
Within 7–10 business days after registering for at least one course, you’ll receive an email titled “Introducing Your Student Success Coordinator.”
Within your first term, you will also be introduced (via email) to your primary mentor.
These two individuals will be your primary contacts moving forward.

Financial Aid
Explore federal and state aid options to help fund your education.
FAFSA (Federal Aid): Submit the 2025–2026 FAFSA at www.studentaid.gov (School Code: 010286).
TAP (New York State Aid): Apply at www.hesc.ny.gov . Bachelor’s Code: 0913 | Associate Code: 0916
Already applied? View your award in the Financial Aid Portal (within https://my.sunyempire.edu) and submit any requested documents.
