Empire State University’s Master of Education in Special Education (M.Ed. SpEd) prepares
certified teachers to support students with disabilities from Pre-K through Grade
12. This clinically rich residency program leads to New York State certification in
Students with Disabilities (All Grades, P–12, Generalist) and is designed for educators
who already hold a base teaching certificate in another content area.
NYSUT's Education & Learning Trust (ELT), in partnership with SUNY Empire State University,
offers members a path to earn up to nine (9) Empire State University graduate credits
toward Empire State University’s online Master of Education in Special Education (MEd
SpEd). Once you complete your 9 credits, you can matriculate into Empire State University
using our partnership benefit program.
Earn your M.Ed. in Special Education online and build the skills to support diverse
learners in inclusive classrooms. It is designed for NYS teachers that already hold
a base certificate in another content area.
