Support for Multilingual Students

If you are multilingual and would like individualized support with your assignments, Empire State University's professional writing coaches can meet with you regularly throughout the term and provide help with all aspects of writing, including grammar and vocabulary.  If you are an enrolled student, you can schedule an appointment with a writing coach by going to the Academic Support portal.

For self-paced learning, we recommend the Purdue Online Writing Lab of Purdue University, which offers comprehensive online resources for multilingual students, including tips for writing in North American colleges, writing for global business audiences and much more.

The Purdue Online Writing Lab also provides detailed explanations of English grammar, such as Using Articles (a, an, the) and related grammar exercises.

If you are an international student applying to an Empire State University program, you may need to submit a TOEFL Score. The Educational Testing Service (ETS) site for the TOEFL  offers registration, a description of the exam, practice tests and links to qualified TOEFL tutors and other sites offering TOEFL preparation.
